Jersey Village City Hall
Jersey Village City Hall is a 34,100 square foot facility that will provide a stately backdrop and serve as an anchor piece for the larger 43-acre development. The main entry is flanked by two circular forms that visually make a connection to the circular water feature in the main plaza in front of the building. The intent is to create a language that ties the building to the exterior public areas. The City of Jersey Village hosts several festivals each year including Christmas and Spring Festivals. The plaza will provide the venue for the events and City Hall will serve as the backdrop for the events.
The new City Hall will house City Departments such as Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Courts along with supporting departments such as Information Technology, Human Resources and Finance. Departments requiring public access are located on the first level, and private function spaces are located on the second level including the Executive Suite for the City Manager, City Secretary, and the Mayor. The proceedings for the City Council Chambers and Courtroom occur in the one and a half story circular volume on the first floor. Both levels are tied together by a curving two-story high lobby, illuminated by clerestory windows, which will serve as a circulation spine, a reception area, as well as, waiting area.
