Southmayd Elementary

The Southmayd Elementary School Facility, located at 1800 Coral St. in Houston, Texas was built in 1936. It comprises approximately 67, 289 gross square feet. The scope of work includes safety upgrades, security upgrades, roofing upgrades, HVAC upgrades and other interior and exterior improvements to hardware doors, door handles, etc. The original scope of work which was based on an assessment initially called for HVAC and Accessibility improvements. Upon review of the scope with the school’s administration, the school came to the conclusion initial scope did not address the schools needs and required an expanded scope. The scope of the project was expanded through meetings with the community to include a new administration area, a new learning resource center a new math and science wing, and remodeling of the existing classrooms.
